I've had the joy of reading in Samuel this week. It's been rather nice just to have time in the word, not feeling like obligated just invited. It's like when you show up to a party out of obligation, Your parents want you to be there, or it's a friend of a friends get together. You aren't chipping at the bit to be there, it's just your there. Where as if it's something you want, you can hardly wait to get there, you plan your outfit, you leave with more than enough time, you get there awkwardly early and you leave late. It wasn't always an invitation for me to be in my word. Which just shows me how incredibly young and stupid I was. I think in this life we are so used to getting it all, Now. We're like Veruca from Willy Wonka, I want it and I want it now. Which growing up I was very much like that, and even today can be like that. We don't really remember that there are people out there just hoping to glance scripture and we have bibles upon bibles just bringing up dust. I was spoiled as a child, it would be a lie to say I wasn't. As a parent now I find it hard not to spoil my children completely. But taking a step back I am asking myself, is that a need or is it just a want. Because truthfully, why spend the money if it's not a need. God always gives his children there daily bread, and yet we're always like NO, I need more now.
Whenever I am dead set on something, I feel a lot like Saul going after David. Just like a dog hunting down his prey. It's hard to take a step back sometimes. To imagine there are people mostly 1 in particular that knows more than us. I know I am definitely one that likes to be correct. I like my friends to value my opinion like I value theirs. At bible study the other night, God kept tugging at my heart about listening to our friends and family. How we really value you them so much sometimes above God. That we just hold them to the highest knowledge. When that is not there place, no one should be above Him. I took away Pacifiers from thing 1 this week. It's actually been rather productive, which is such a comfort. I had mentally prepared myself for break downs. But there was none- I know I was surprised to. But I told him that we had thrown them in the trash. So every time he asked for them I said, "no they're in the trash." So he would say "trash" and that was that. Just yesterday I threw them out and we haven't had them all week. But you know it was perplexing to me why I was keeping the pacifiers. Like I was holding onto them just in case I needed them? Like I didn't even trust myself to stand firm against my decision as a parent. Not only that , that I was just showing my child that I was going to cave. Because what if I had caved, then the next time it would be ten times worse right? Mom said they were in the trash but then she magically pulled them out of thin air. I gave this one to God completely. It was so freeing when I finally didn't try to take it back and didn't give myself a chance to cave.
"I will be glad because he rescues me. With every bone in my body I will praise him. Lord, who can compare with you? Who else rescues the helpless form the strong?" Psalm 35:9
" David replied to the Philistine, "You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven's Armies-the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord's battle, and He will give you to us!" 1 Samuel 17:45-47
God has so much more to give you then your letting him. Don't settle for a Sunday talk with God, live out loud for Him and really spend time with him daily. He'll help you with all your battles and conquer all your enemies. Not always in our timing but always in His. Trust Him,Praise Him, Love Him. God Bless you!

Life through the eyes of a child
If you'd like to enjoy this morning with me, I'd love to share with you. We are sitting on the couch listening to the children playing and klove on the radio. The music is giving me such peace, almost like an injection of Jesus. Thing 2 is creeping all around the room almost to the point of crawling. I always love to get down to her level and see what she sees. Thing 1 has Ernie & Bert and is picking them up to different area's of the house and having them talk. It's these moments the ones that tomorrow will be a mere memory that I want to just never let go. Because just from watching Thing 1 grow up I know it all is so fast. I feel like I have so much I want to tell them. Yet words are just words. Just like my blog is for me what I make it. But it could be a completely different thing for you. For all I know you could take it and then put all the correct punctuation in it. Just so you can read it and, enjoy it for that matter.
I tend to choose to do things that I'm comfortable in. Like if a friend mentions doing something instead of thinking .. "That would be fun to try something new." I basically talk myself out of it before they get to the second reason why we should do that. But sometimes in life we have no choice to say no. Decisions that were made long before we had an opinion. In my lifestyle as a military wife, I get lots of questions. Such as: How long will he be gone for? Do you talk to him alot? How do you feel about him leaving? Long before marriage was ever in my mind, God knew who I was going to marry. God knew what it takes in this life to be married to the military. I just am so very thankful that God gives us what we can handle. So when any questions come up, I know that my Savior has got this. But we should know that wherever we are at. That God's got it!
I love the trust that my children have in me. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right. I keep putting Thing 2 in a sitting up position, just so she'll learn how to sit. She will sit for a while but when she's sick of it she just topples over, not worrying someone will catch her ever. Did you ever play those trust games as a child. Where someone stands behind you, and your suppose to fall back and they'll catch you. I really had a hard time with those. Because just my luck my partner would want to be funny and let me topple to the floor. You know we do that with God, he's right behind us waiting to catch us and we won't let him have us. He always will catch you, it just may not be in your timing. Because in the games I would always want my partner to catch me as soon as possible. But they would wait till I was almost to the floor. He's just molding you and making you trust Him. So that you won't worry about tomorrow, you won't worry about today. You'll just know with all your heart that He loves you and will take care of you. A shepherd never leaves his sheep. Prayers on your upcoming weekend and know that God's got you wherever you are!
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.Psalm 16:9

Praying for more Raid
Well happy readers I am back in my beautiful home. Upon my arrival I have found that I have been again invaded by darling little earwigs. Now when I say darling and little I really mean nasty & annoying. I have been home almost 48 hrs and already I feel like a stranger in my own home. 1st of all I've been gone for around 7 weeks so I'm already a stranger. I know where NOTHING is: So please don't ask me because I apparently lost my brain in the 7 weeks departure. I also have nothing in this house. I basically used up all my diapers/wipes/food before I left, so now I'm running on empty. Don't you just hate the "Ughh.. I have to go on a big shopping trip feeling" Because I honestly hate it. Not only that but I have Thing 1 & Thing 2, which do not make the trip any easier.
I got to go to bible study at church last night which was awesome. I really love any chance I get to enjoy worship/study with my Savior. Since motherhood I find myself consistently distracted or pulled away in another direction. Now please don't get me wrong because I really love and enjoy my children. I just find that I need to worship so that I don't kill them! So really you all should be praying I get time for worship and service.
Now for everything in my life good or bad it comes back to my walk with Christ. So yes I'm taking the pincher bug invasion as a spiritual invasion of the heart. Because like the creatures that get in we let things like worry, fear, anxiety, stress and others get into our life. You know it BLOWS my mind how much we let get to us when we have a book of knowledge and comfort. He's given us music artists, movies, online sermons. You name it God's put it out there to keep up and keep us close to His word. Yet there are days when all we get is to listen to the radio. You know where you are in your walk with Him. I pray you are striving for Christ today. While I've been blogging Thing 1 has managed to climb into my nightstand drawer to get the cookies, dumped a bottle of baby powder on the couch, and nearly let thing 2 crash into the wall from pushing her in the johnny jump up. So on that note as I continue to obliterate the pinchers, Enjoy some time in His word. You won't regret it when you do. Matthew 6:26

_Insert meaningful title here_
So there are definite moments in my life that I would like to freeze time and dwell in it forever. Like when you have such an awesome worship service that tears are streaming down your face, or when your eating your favorite dessert, or perhaps when you are witnessing something beautiful. Moments in your life that they are so savory and sweet you could just eat them up. Because you never want them to leave you.
Then other moments that you just want it to be over with. Where you want to curl up like a baby and scream till it ends, Or cover your ears like a child and say no! Moments that reliving them bring chills up your spine just at how terrible they were. If you cannot tell by my awesome title or the way this blog has started I'm not in the best "moment". Its usually in these moments I need to blog because I simply have so much in me that I need to get out. Today there were many moments I wanted to capture in a bottle and never let go. Just as a child chases fireflies the moments are passed and over with.
I've had such a nice time being able to share my family with the rest of my family. Floods of childhood memories have arisen while being here, but it really makes me miss my NC family all the more. I really love watching God grow in everyone's lives. I love watching my children experience life from there perspective as a child and how I watch my own childhood become a distant but fond memory. It blows my mind that I've grown to a place that I'm the instructor and I'm the leader. Well.. I'm not really the leader lets face that. God is, which THANK JESUS because If it was all up to me lets be honest.. most of you would be in tiny rooms with no windows. Because I'm not nor will I ever be as awesome and excellent as our Savior. You know as well as I that really He is the only one that knows how to give LOVE. I mean if you are feeling low or alone.. He's there.Even if your feeling happy that you could fly he's there. He's always there! He's willing and ready to give you the hug that you need. The wrap around your broken heart and show you what TRUE love is. Because it exists. No matter how much the world tries to put weight on other things that will give you love and consistently fail. You want the real example of love.. Read John 3:16! If you don't happen to have a bible.. I will supply it right here for you. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."John 3:16 REALLY! His one and only son.. I don't know how your feeling today but I don't know if I could take my one and only and just give up his life for the rest of the world.. especially people I don't even know. But HE knows you, He knows your name and every breath you breathe, every step you take , and every little hair on your head. (Yes he even knows you even if your bald) This verse has been on my heart lately and I don't know where your at but I pray it throws you for a loop. That you institute some much needed change. "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."Colossians 3:17 It seriously blows my mind how much blogging really just calms all my anxiety. So now that I have had a moment to blow off some steam and teach myself what God wants me to hear. :) I should go but blessings on your weekend friends. S.

From pigtails to promises
When you are a child, all you focus on is one thing at a time. Like when my parents told us we were having another baby. Excitement flooded over our little child bodies. Looking back the baby sibling wasn't all that exciting. They take over most of the attention and tend to do everything "cuter" than you. So you kinda go through a " I don't think I like you" stage. Which is pretty normal in all situations. This past week I got ALOT of time with my sister. Time I really value, because I always will cherish my sister. It made me think about time with our Savior. At first we are overjoyed can hardly contain ourselves. Jesus as the sweetest and most precious name we know. As time passes we become more used to our Savior. Happy with how things are and don't really see Him as our Redeemer, But our "Bro".
I don't want to be one of the crowd. I want to light a candle and stand up on my own feet. I want to let my light shine. Just as I was driving down the road today singing on the top of my lungs! " This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." Quit hiding under the bushels, Don't let Satan blow it out, SHINE all over where we LIVE! Everyday is a gift from God. We're living as if we have forever. What if you didn't have forever. What if you had a clock that you can't see. Everyday is fleeting and your wasting it away. My sister is a lovely gift from God. I am happy to have had all the moments we had together. I don't ever want her to feel taken for granted. Because just between you and me.( She's wonderful) SO, :) If you have become content with your walk. Maybe its time for some reflection, Jesus paid for all my sins . He laid down His life for me, little undeserving me.
Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Philippians 1:3
I pray you have a wonderful week in God's tremendous blessings and opportunities. S.
