Adventure is a wonderful thing

Well its FRIDAY, WOOT!! I have only hours left for departure, which makes me feel rather giddy. I haven't been back up to ME since Sam was 6 mths and now he's gonna be 21 mths. CRAZYNESS! So as you can see I am looking forward to my visit. This week has been an adventure in itself. A lot of the time lets face it.. I'm AWESOME! Because I cart around 2 children under the age of 2 by myself. Some of you might think I'm not that awesome: Let me inform you -YOU ARE WRONG! But I have basically had to get ready for the whole trip by myself. Getting the car looked at, making sure the gps works, buying the food. Its a lot of work for sure. So the house has not been receiving the love it needs since I've been MIA all week. So that's what is on the mission tonight. I have made significant progress, but there is still a ton to do. So really I should get off this silly blog and clean my house. But if I stop now you'll never know what God's been teaching me all week.
Friendship. God's showing me how much He loves me through my friends. One of the things I pride myself on is being self reliant. I feel once you get married, You leave your parents and make a life with your spouse.
"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Genesis 2:24
That in no way means you Excommunicate yourself from your parents. DO YOU HEAR ME.. Don't just get hitched and say Deuces mom and pops. Because that's not what I'm saying. I'm sure at times my parents would love it if I didn't call as much. But hey, I got questions and they have answers. BUT I digress.. When I moved down here, At first it was hard for me to accept living in a new place. As kids there's this song Its like "make new friends but keep the old one is silver and the other gold. " While we kept going to church, I never really opened up. Because I truly felt if I did I would be leaving my family and my church family in the dust. I kept fighting with God about it like: There isn't anyone down here as awesome as up in Maine or They won't get my sense of humor, No one will really love me like they do. But God being the awesome God that he is continued to let me have my "pity me" stage. Finally just put me in a position that I had no choice but to make friends. WHICH was GREAT! Because then I met one of my closest friends : Brian. Who being so awesome happens to be my kids- GODFATHER. Then I met Elizabeth( GOD MOTHER) by attacking her in the bathroom. She says attacking.. but really I just talked to her at the sinks. :) Obviously I was excited since I really wanted to make friends. These are just a couple of my friends. But they are all so great with my kids, they help parent my kids. They are always there when I need a hand: Which I will tell you I don't but I do appreciate it! I am really gonna miss my friends. Even to my friends that don't read my blog, ;) You know who you are. Just so you know, God is amazing. He always knows what you need when you need it. The people in my life are encouraging in Christ, always there when I need a pick me up and most of all are full of great laughter and fun times. I never left my old church in the dust, I just opened my heart to more of His kingdom. I pray you have a blessed week. I know I will. Love to all my buddies. See you when I get back S.

Whirlwind

It's been a whirlwind of fun here at the G. House. Friends of ours have been staying here while they've been house-hunting. So instead of being up to our regular things, we've just been enjoying there visit! So now there is lots to do!

Every year in the weeks leading up to summer camp, I would start prepping my bags early. It was always my most favorite thing packing for my GRAND adventure. I never had a hard time with being away from my parents. In fact I enjoyed being out on my very own and having a whole week to praise God with kids my age. I would pack so long before hand that I wouldn't have any clothes left to wear in the days leading up to camp. It makes me laugh now because even though it was silly to do then. I tend to still do that as an adult, I pack and then end up needing clothes cause I'm so very excited. What about you? Do you tend to hold it all off before the trip? So much so that you are running out the door unsure of whats in your suitcase. One year at camp I ended up having to borrow some underwear since I had only packed like 2 pairs. I obviously wasn't thinking that year at all!

Its been over a year since we have ventured North, so I am incredibly excited to go. I'm really hoping the kids end up sticking to there schedules even though we'll be in a different place. As for most of my blogs this has a spiritual meaning as well. When it comes time for you to speak to others about Christ. Because God puts most of us in those situations, will you be prepared? Have set time aside in building up your "arsenal?" So that whatever questions you face, you know God's truth in the matter. Or as the time approaches you are just gonna wing it, uncertain of whats going to come out. No matter what I pray God speaks through you. That your words are not your own, just as I pray mine come from God. I am not certain where God will take you and when, but if you are reading this that is a good sign that you are wanting more from just your average walk. There tends to be days of darkness, but the light always shines through. Especially if your light is from the Lord of Lord and King of Kings. Blessings on your summer my friends. May it be just the right path to glorify Him. S.

Winners.. Losers and all in between

Let me share a little about me, :) I grew up in a "game" home. It was one of my favorite things that I plan on sharing or when there teenagers "torturing" them with, Because by that point we all know I'll be a loser! ( to them a least) At the moment my son thinks I'm awesome, I think that's why he's slobbering on my face! Either that or my husband has told him too. Anyway I digress..

We played games so regularly that I would get a little bummed when we didn't. I am a competitor! I will fight you with all I have till the end, I'm gonna trash talk and make you feel like I'm a winner-Because I am. :) But honestly at the end of the game I am really just happy to play. We have recently been doing a game night with our friends monthly. It has been the best thing, :) I look forward to it the whole day: hardly doing anything around the house cause I'm so excited.

One of the reasons I'm writing is cause I totally just won against my dad!! :) Always a good day. But secondly because in life I always feel like a winner. After you win a board game you brag and rub it in all there faces. :) You can hardly wait to tell everyone else how you dominated! Well I feel like I'm a winner cause I have this great relationship with God. Who really could ask for more. I have this amazing win, yet I'm not bragging or rubbing it in there faces. Mostly because I feel sorry for them. Sorry that there pride and arrogance get in the way of having a life full of peace and grace. A life that when times get rough seem less overwhelming in the midst of it all. A life where worrying is less of a hassle knowing your Savior's got this.

In this life we have on earth.. its not very long. There are days it feels long, Boy do I know that feeling. But really its just short .. "LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered--how fleeting my life is."NIV Psalm 39:4 I don't know where your at in your walk, or if you've even started walking. But our God is so great that at the end of it all . It doesn't matter if you met him 89 years ago or if you met him today. Why don't you get in the game? God Bless you! S.

Enjoying the little things

So at my house its been a lot of serious talk. There's been a ton of paperwork detailing what's going to be done if anything happens to us. So very grown up stuff, which when we're not doing it draws me to playing. Playing like there's no day but today. Yesterday I took all the pillows of the couch and loaded them up to the point where you ran and jumped on them. It was quite wonderful, as children my cousins and I would jump on the trampoline. Not to say in anyway that when I go visit I'm not going to jump because I certainly am! Now we would do all sorts of combos..Jump,Jump, Knees. Or others like butt, or indian style whatever we decided to come up with. My cousin Jordan though would jump up high then kick his legs out behind him,put his arms straight down by his sides and he would land on his stomach. I always envied that because no matter how many times I tried my knee jerk reaction would to be put my hands out before crashing into my face. So yesterday when Sam and I were running then jumping into the huge amount of pillows, I laughed. Mostly because I just really enjoy my kids and hope when they are parents they have as much fun as I do. Sure the house needs to get done, bills need to be paid, and we have to work. But don't forget to have fun and be silly. Who cares what people think as long as when you look back your not disappointed. I know I won't be.

We had company for dinner on Tuesday, and after dinner we had cream horns for dessert. My son who is always himself, shoves his fingers into the cream and pulls it out. That is how he continued to eat it the entire evening. So today, I totally did the same. Now I would be lying to say I truly enjoyed it. Because I don't like my hands all sticky or gross, so that part wasn't great. What I did differently is pour chocolate syrup down into the cream horn and ate it like such. It was quite delicious and as I was finishing up the last few bites, I was pondering how in life we forget to live everyday like its our last.

We get so caught up on silly rules and regulations that living for ourselves and seizing the day goes by the wayside. NOW.. JUST POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS HERE, do NOT read this and go break into jewelry stores and run people over just for the heck of it. As you have read above I seized the day and caused no harm to myself or others. ;) A couple of my friends have been on vacation and things get much quieter when there gone. It will be nice when there back and we can get back to normal. :D I had the best time yesterday, I went to Snow white and the huntsmen. It was a good movie, (side note) this movie is not for children! I would not let my children see this until there much older. Because the Queen was quite nasty and mean.
I hope that your June is off to a wonderful start. Mine certainly is in good form and to top it off I'm beating my dad in lexulous which is always a BONUS! :D

Blessings to you and yours! S.

Preparing for Invasion

Welcome Summer, :) It has been so long since we've seen your smiling face. Not only has summer arrived but June is here as well. Which June 1st has officially become my favorite day, simply because its Free Doughnut Day! Which since I am pretty much paying all DD employee's by my support alone, I spell donut this way.Oh and to all my unable to eat donut friends. 1- I ate enough for the both of us, I know I'm so sweet and 2 I am sorry. Ps. no spell-check I don't want to correct my so called error. Moving on...

I love it when you have days you have nothing to blog about and you wish you did. Then other days you can't get to the computer fast enough. Tonight I was just thinking about nothing,(Yes. I am pooh bear) and it just suddenly hit me. INSPIRATION. Now, I happen to be the kind of person that likes to give you a real story. SO here it is folks.. the reason I happen to be a little frustrated as of late. Millipedes. Yes. Millipedes, the most awkward looking, annoying bug of my existence,(AS of now that is.) Last year we totally were invaded by millipedes, They were in the house they surrounded the house, they had us on the ropes. You name it the millipedes had conquered it. So we got an exterminator-WONDERFUL PEOPLE and cleared out the problem. Here summer has rolled around again and look my kind little millipede friends are back. I guess my big guns last year are not affecting this years population.

Now.. It has not gotten to the point of no return like last year, because they are just casually around the house. But that's how last year started. First there would be 1, a little friendly millipede lurking around the house. Then I would see a couple more, and as the days go on more and more accumulate until INVASION. This like most things in my life is a spiritual lesson. Millipedes are like sin, You say to yourself " Oh its just a little one, it won't hurt anything." Then as you continue to sin or falter in your faith it gets easier and easier. So much so that now the sin is running your life and you have lost yourself. This is why we have EXTERMINATORS. :) One to get rid of the millipedes or like our Heavenly Exterminator he rids us of sin. He takes it all away. So as I am calling the exterminator for the millipedes, take a moment to reflect. Have you let one little sin get in the way of living for the Lord? If so, its okay because He can take it all away. Unlike having to use the phone where businesses close, God's line is always open for a talk. He never puts you on hold or doesn't want to hear your complaints.

Also it doesn't hurt to be prepared, I know with the millipedes I use some bug spray around the house which does kill off some of them. You know this life is so hard, and we all stumble but its nice to know that stumbling or not Jesus is there. He wants so badly to have a relationship with us. The God of the universe, Seriously.. Yes even you. So don't be afraid ... Enjoy a nice chat with Jesus you'll be glad you did. S.
